Why the laboratory exists
Some foundational questions require sustained investigation across the boundaries of physics, mathematics, probability, and computation. McIntyre Lab exists to preserve that continuity while subjecting the resulting work to scientific scrutiny.
Its purpose is not to avoid criticism. It is to create the conditions required to reach meaningful criticism.
Why independence matters
Independence allows difficult questions to remain under investigation through incomplete models, unsuccessful approaches, and changes in mathematical language. It does not relax the standard of evidence.
Foundational work often requires:
- pursuing connections across established disciplines;
- developing missing mathematical language;
- preserving unsuccessful approaches;
- testing unconventional ideas without promoting them prematurely; and
- continuing through periods when the work is not yet legible to an external audience.
McIntyre Lab was established to make that kind of continuity possible.
Independence allows the lab to choose its research questions. Scientific governance determines what conclusions may be drawn from the answers.
Ambition and restraint
The long-term objective is to investigate whether quantum theory, matter, probability, geometry, and gravity can be connected through a coherent underlying framework. The present research does not claim that objective has been completed.
The laboratory is moving from internally focused development towards selected public work, external review, and collaboration. Its immediate task is to determine which parts survive scrutiny.
Outreach
The laboratory has begun attending mathematics and quantum-physics industry events, alongside individual outreach to researchers with specific technical questions.
Public identity
This site presents the laboratory and its work without personnel or institutional-scale claims. Accurate authorship belongs on individual publication records.
